Our First Home

It is that time of year again, I actually have enough motivation to blog.  There have been a lot of changes in our lives since I blogged last.  We bought our first home May 31st, moved in June 20th and now are settled and loving it!  Brady is halfway through his second rotation as an intern and so far life has been great.  I guess when you expect the worst, you are pleased with what you get.  We have been eased into residency with Surgical ICU and now Peds Gen Surg.  Night call has started, but that is good too.  Check back in October when he is on Vascular and I may sound like a completely different person.  Brady has been really happy so far with the work, the people he rotates with, and his co-interns and him are getting along great!  It is very comforting that Brady is so happy because it makes all his hard work and the distance from family more than worth it.

We are loving owning a home and I am trying to bargain shop my way to filling it.  I think we are pretty much settled other than slowly finding things to hang on the walls.  The location is ideal, the neighborhood is extremely quiet and most are retired.  It is weird living on a dead end suburban street versus the bus line in the city.  The other families with kids on the street are very welcoming and nice.  We are adjusting to the new ward as it is completely different then our old ward and it is hard to accept a 15 minute move places us in a different ward and stake.  We made some really great friendships the past 4 years in the 1st ward.  The 4th ward is enormous, but they welcome you as if they badly need your family in the ward.  Everyone has been so kind and friendly.

Thus, the purpose of my post is for a virtual tour of our house.  This is the 4th place Brady and I have lived in since getting married 7 years ago and only the first place did I not take pictures.  Someday it will be fun to show the kids where they grew up.

Wow! What a find! You have made it look so nice. I'm a bit disappointed there isn't a Pittsburgh potty though.
